JWoww’s colorful dogs prompt PETA response

3 Apr

After walking around downtown Jersey City on Wednesday, Jenni “JWoww” Farley picked up her two dogs, Bella and Noel, from their stay at K9dergarten.

But the two dogs, who have stolen the show in JWoww’s spin-off with Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, came out with their own new look – pink and blue.
The two white dogs pranced down the street, with dyed shoes and outfits coloring their fur. The duo may have thought it was a fashion statement, but the new look prompted PETA to issue a statement saying dying fur causes unnatural stress for the animals.

“Dyeing a companion animal’s fur causes the animal stress and can lead to complications or allergic reactions that endanger the animal’s health,” a rep for PETA told news outlets. ”Our dogs and cats love us regardless of how we look; we should extend the same kindness to them.”

PETA has been vocal against dyeing furs, including a push to ban a law in Florida that would allow dyeing. Dyeing fur is illegal in 20 states.

“Blue and pink bunnies and chicks may appeal to children, who will pester their parents to purchase them, but dyeing these small animals can be a death sentence for the animals as every humane agency in the country well knows,” says PETA Vice President Daphna Nachminovich.

PETA said allowing people to dye animals sends a message that animals are toys or accessories instead of living, breathing beings who need care.

Even with the latest attention, the dogs have stolen the show that the two have been filming in Jersey City, with constant stops to pet stores and even Snooki working at the K9dergarten groomers for a day.

‘Jersey Shore’ cast not angry with NJ city’s snub

2 Feb

The women of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” say they’re not angry that Hoboken officials won’t allow a spinoff of the reality show to be filmed in the city of Frank Sinatra’s birth.

But Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jenni “JWoww” Farley tell The Associated Press the city would have benefited from the proposed show. They say officials likely based their decision on “stereotypes” about the show and its cast.

“The thing is we don’t go to a town to damage it. … We go to a town to help it out,” Farley said Wednesday. “We wanted to help out Hoboken, we wanted to give them more revenue, we wanted to give (to) their stores.”

Mayor Dawn Zimmer says the local Film Commission’s decision was based on safety and quality of life concerns for residents of the city along the Hudson River. Hoboken officials say 495 Productions was seeking a 24-hour filming permit to follow two “well-known reality television celebrities” who would live in the city.

The production company, which has filmed “Jersey Shore” in Seaside Heights, Miami and Italy, can appeal the decision to the city council.

Farley and Polizzi questioned Zimmer’s role in the film commission’s decision and said she eventually would “regret” not having the spinoff filmed in her town.

“I wish she would have met us first and maybe talked about what the show was gonna be about before just being like `You’re not allowed in Hoboken.’ I think that’s really rude, to be honest,” Polizzi said. “She was 24 once, she’s from Jersey, she was at the shore and she was doing the same exact thing we’re doing. She just wasn’t taped.”

Reality star JWOWW says TSA singled her out

14 Nov

Reality television star JWOWW says on her official Twitter account that she was “treated like a criminal” when airport security officers singled her out for a pat down in North Dakota.

Jenni Farley of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” says in multiple tweets that her selection while boarding seemed “odd and deliberate.” She says she earlier noticed a Transportation Security Administration officer pointing at her while she was getting coffee at Fargo’s Hector International Airport.

Farley says she travels twice a week and never went through that before.

A message left with a TSA spokeswoman was not immediately returned.

Messages seeking comment from Farley through her publicist were not immediately returned.

Farley was leaving the North Dakota city after a Saturday night appearance at The Hub, a Fargo night club.

Who turned down Playboy?

29 Oct

Jenni “J-Woww” Farley of MTV “Jersey Shore” fame might wear bedazzled boy-shorts as if they were long pants, but she isn’t going to take them off for “Playboy.” She has turned down a request to pose for the mag, even though the offer was reportedly for $400,000. “I am not going to do Playboy in the near future,” she told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show recently. “There is a better opportunity out there, which everybody will probably see soon.” Most think this “better opportunity” is a possible “Jersey Shore” spin-off show with her bestie, Snooki. Which has us craving pickles now.
