Reality TV star Kim Kardashian on her famous derrière and loving her curves

October 4, 2009

FACE “I got badly sunburnt earlier this year – it was a huge wake-up call. Kiehl’s soothing and healing Anti-Oxidant Skin Preserver saved my life! It’s only available in America, but in the UK Kiehl’s Centella Recovery Skin-Salve, £38, is just as amazing.”

EYES “I’m a real fan of fake lashes for big events, but the key to making my own eyelashes look super-long is applying layers of different mascaras. I love Lancôme Hypnôse, £19.50, and Mac Zoom Lash, £12.”

CHEEKS “I’m obsessed with blusher and use Mac’s Gingerly Powder Blush, £16, to give me a little colour, then add a pink shade called The Perfect Cheek for extra rosiness.”

BODY “I recently lost 6lb and toned up. My body shape comes from my father’s side of the family – he’s from Armenia, where all the women are voluptuous. Thanks to role models like Jennifer Lopez, I’m comfortable with my curves.”.

BOTTOM “There’s constant interest in my bottom! The paparazzi always want ‘butt’ shots, girls come up to me and grab it and people ask to squeeze it. I sometimes think: ‘Everyone’s got a butt, why do you care about mine?’”

Keeping Up With The Kardashians is on Sunday, 10.30pm, E! Entertainment Television.

Kim Kardashian revisits sex tape clip in Cosmo: ‘I was devestated’

October 4, 2009

As the November cover girl for Cosmopolitan magazine’s “Bad Girl Issue”, Kim Kardashian dishes on who she really is – Including the Kim Kardashian behind the sex tape scandel.

When asked about her video rendezvous with R.Jay, Kim responded frankly saying the incident was hard but she found a way to flip it positive.

“I was devastated,” the E! reality TV star said.

“But when something negative happens, I pick myself up and move on, and I don’t make the same mistake twice.”

Trying to convert from the rep of a sex symbol to one of an entrepreneurial, anything-but-spoiled businesswoman, the 28-year-old Kardashian sis said she wishes people would stop thinking of her as a “spoiled rich girl”.

Giving herself a new image in business is her new mission since giving herself a new self-proclaimed middle name- Kim “Ambitious” Kardashian.

In fact, Kim is so focused on her work, she’s putting dating on the backburner.

“I’ve learned what I’d need to do to balance a career and family,” she told the mag.

Tamara Ecclestone: The billion-dollar babe

October 4, 2009

No wonder F1 presenter Tamara Ecclestone is careful who she goes out with – they could be after her money (dad Bernie’s worth a mere £1.5 billion…)

ecc_stone.jpg

Tamara Ecclestone is the daughter of Formula 1 supremo Bernie (who has a personal fortune of £1.5 billion) and his ex-wife, the 6ft 2in Croatian model Slavica. Now 25, she survived her teens armed only with her father’s credit card and an allowance reputed to be in the region of £100,000 a year. But now she works for a living – she presents a Formula 1 show for Sky Sports Italia and is also the face of Moussaieff jewellery and Royston Blythe, a new hairdressing salon at The Dorchester.

My dad doesn’t mind people taking the mickey out of him.

He has a very British, dry sense of humour. If you get it it’s great, but a lot of people don’t and they end up with the wrong impression of him. He doesn’t take himself too seriously and personally I think he’s a pussycat. He also never goes out, because he hates parties and small talk. At home he hardly speaks and thankfully doesn’t ask too many questions.

Although my parents divorced last year, they’re still friends.

We were a very close family before they separated, and because we all live really near each other in Kensington nothing much has really changed – they just live in different houses. It was my birthday a few weeks ago and they both came for lunch. I know it sounds really bad, but the older you are the less traumatic divorce is for the children. You’ve done all the family holidays and got all these nice memories.

My dad never gives me a straight answer.

I’ve interviewed him a few times for the show and he always finds a way of getting round what I’m actually asking him, which I think is quite an art. It’s funny but it’s also very frustrating.

Prince William looks like a horse.

At least, that’s what I’m supposed to have said in an interview I gave to a German journalist. I’m sure she translated things wrongly. It made a bit of a stink, so both my sister and I wrote letters to the prince apologising for causing any offence.

It would be wrong for me to go out with a racing driver.

To me they’re all friends. I’ve known most of them my whole life and they’ve seen me growing up from a small child, so it would be wrong on a number of levels. I have to be careful about the men I do go out with – because they could be after my money. You have to be switched on to that, but thinking too much about it messes with my head. Unless I go out with a 60-year-old man it’s hard to find someone who has money.

My boyfriends have to pass the Mum test.

If she doesn’t like someone she’ll be honest and say to me, ‘Darling, he’s an idiot!’ I like the sort of man who opens doors for you. I’m very fussy and I’ve had my fingers burnt so I’m very careful. I don’t like pretty boys like David Beckham or Robbie Williams. And rock stars like Pete Doherty look too grubby for my taste.

Felipe Massa should have been world champion in 2008.

He’s my favourite driver – the sweetest, most down-to-earth, humble person – but also the unluckiest one on the circuit. He should have won last year, but he missed out by a single point. If anyone deserves a break, he does. It’s a great shame that he got hit in the head by a spring at the Hungarian Grand Prix. As well as being ruled out for the rest of the season, there’s a question mark as to whether he’ll ever race again. I can’t imagine what he is going through at the moment.

My dad’s always one step ahead of the game.

He knew before everyone else that Michael Schumacher wouldn’t drive again for Ferrari. He told us over dinner that he had a hunch – and then it came out in the papers. Dad’s a pretty shrewd character.

You won’t find any pictures of me stumbling out of a nightclub without any knickers on.

As a teenager I used to get drunk on vodka jelly shots, but nowadays I feel like I can go out and have a great time without booze. It’s fantastic because at the end of the evening everyone around me is talking total rubbish but I can remember everything they tell me, which is handy.

I can’t handle being in a loo cubicle on my own.

I’m very claustrophobic, so I have to have a friend come in with me unless there’s a gap at both the top and the bottom of the door. My sister used to live in a flat with a lift and I had panic attacks because I’m so freaked out by small spaces. I’d really like to cure myself. Maybe I just need to be locked in a small room for a while.

London is getting worse and worse as a city.

A girlfriend of mine was recently mugged outside her house for her watch. I wear a gold Rolex which I bought with my Sky pay cheque after working a season for them in F1. It’s something I’m very proud of and I don’t think it’s right that I shouldn’t wear it for fear of someone stealing it off me.

I’m the only one in my family with a tattoo.

I’ve got my sister’s initials and a shooting star on one wrist and on the other I’ve got a tiara with my initials in it, which I had done on my 22nd birthday. I’ve also got one that says Mum, a key on my foot and a butterfly on my shoulder. I’ve got eight tattoos in total I don’t regret any of them.

Regis dares to ask Kate Gosselin a direct question

October 4, 2009

Leave it to a television veteran to cut through Kate Gosselin’s carefully crafted, publicist-vetted sound bites and get a real reaction on her much-publicized marriage troubles.

An out-of-touch Regis Philbin, who admitted that he watched his first episode of Jon & Kate Plus Eight just this week, put the Octomom in the hot seat during a taped interview that aired this morning. While Gosselin was explaining the reality TV show’s new shooting schedule, which now follows the ex-couple’s separate adventures with their eight children, Philbin piped up with his own, unwelcome prediction for their future.

“I just have a feeling, I think the separation is going to come to an end and I think he’s going to come back and he’s going to say, ‘Please marry me again,’ and I think you’re going to live happily every after,” Philbin said. “Now, what do you think of that?”

Gosselin, looking taken aback, said “Wow!” before laughing uncomfortably with the audience.

“He’s totally going off on his own right now, just so you know,” Kelly Ripa interjected. Philbin pressed on, asking Gosselin, “If he came back tomorrow, Kate, and said, ‘Look, let’s put the past behind us. I want to spend the rest of my life with you and the kids,’ what would you say?”

“I don’t think I can answer that,” she hedged. “There’s a lot . . . a lot of our lives are public, but a lot is private as well.” Not content to just drop it, Philbin then put Gosselin on the defensive by suggesting her troubles are tied to her hunger for fame.

“Don’t you think all of this would come to an end if the TV show stopped and if you just lead a normal life without cameras on you every minute of the day?”

A stunned-looking Gosselin responded quietly, “This is our means of providing for our family and no, I don’t think it would go away at this point,” before the show awkwardly broke for commercial.

PETA raises concerns over Omar Vizquel’s plans

October 4, 2009

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Uh, oh. Omar Vizquel’s desire to try bullfighting in Venezuela this winter has landed him on PETA’s hit list.

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) announced Thursday that assistant director Dan Shannon has sent the Texas Rangers’ utility infielder an urgent letter, pleading with him to give up his bullfighting plans and to “please leave animal abuse out of your midlife crisis.”

“Omar is striking out by advocating cruel pastimes such as killing bulls and hunting anacondas,” Shannon said. “Participating in cruel and ludicrous activities overseas — activities that are illegal in the U.S. — won’t help Vizquel or the Rangers win over any fans here at home.”

There were several pointed jabs at Vizquel in the letter.

“We know that you have hit only one home run this year, but if you’re looking for a way to prove that you can perform, believe me, torturing an already weakened animal won’t impress anyone,” Shannon wrote.

PETA said in the announcement that bullfighting is illegal in the United States and that even before entering the ring, bulls are repeatedly beaten in the kidneys to weaken them and have Vaseline smeared in their eyes to impair their eyesight so that they have no chanceof leaving the ring alive.

“By the time the matador steps into the ring, the bulls are weaker than — oh, forgive me — a shortstop with a career OPS (on-base plus slugging) below .700,” Shannon wrote to Vizquel.

PETA also took exception to Vizquel’s anaconda hunt in his native Venezuela last off-season. But for the record, the anaconda, which was on a preserve, was released unharmed and Vizquel’s bullfighting plans only include practicing against half-grown bulls at a training facility.

“I haven’t seen the letter so I don’t know what it’s all about,” Vizquel said. “I won’t have a sword; it’s not like I’m going to kill the bull. I’m just going to have some fun with (the training).”
